Change is Welcomed

Change is right here in front of me. Standing right beside me. Sometimes, instead of embracing her with a warm welcome, I get scared and turn my back on her. Give her the side of me that is confused. The side of me that fears the uncomfortableness of change.

I have always been someone who thrives on routine. I do better when I feel like the control of what happens is in my hands. But as I get older, as I notice friendships shifting, my values evolving, my thoughts and feelings growing more prominent, I notice one thing: I am changing.

But why would I ever convince myself that is a bad thing.

We are meant to change. Meant to look, feel, be different as years pass us by. Being uncomfortable means growth. It means challenge, life, experience.

To get to know yourself in the middle of the chaos. Of the noise you are meant to tune out to be able to listen. The second you get caught up in the voices that fill your mind with doubt, with pessimism, with envy, you don’t allow yourself to truly be.

To build strong healthy relationships with the people you love, with people you are yet to meet, with God, with yourself.

Change is welcome. Change is beautiful. Navigate it. Navigate your life in a direction of love, of growth, of confidence, of respect, of peace.

Embrace change. Give her a hug, welcome her.
